Angela is a Yoga Teacher and Thai Yoga Massage Practitioner. In January 2011 she embarked on a journey as a yoga teacher and completed a 300 hour Sivananda teacher training program with the Swami Vishnu Yoga Centre in Ontario, Canada. Taught by a traditional Indian Swami, the foundation of her training was yogic philosophy and the spiritual aspects of yoga. It was while undergoing this training that she learned that the physical practice of yoga is only a component of the modality as a whole. This came as a surprise!
The concepts she learned during her training gave her an insight into an entirely new world and she realised she wanted to know so much more. As a result, she committed to focus on weaving the new-found principles and philosophies into her life, not only regularly practicing yoga, but working towards living her life in accordance with these philosophies and sharing her knowledge with others. This is not as simple as it seems... This shift in direction has been profound and began the start of a lifelong path of growth and change.
Once she had finished her training, she volunteered with the Canadian YMCA, teaching classes on a regular basis. When she returned to Australia, she committed to expanding her training and completed a Vinyasa Flow advanced immersion with Yoga Trinity in Canberra. Additionally, she is a Thai Yoga Massage practitioner and in 2013 completed levels 1, 2 & 3 in Thai Yoga Massage with Yoga Trinity. This style of massage is practiced fully clothed on a floor mat. This healing modality involves assisted stretches, massage, acupressure, energy work and mediation. Thai Yoga Massage is the only therapy that applies massage and a stretch.
So far, her Yoga journey has been life-changing and she is motivated to learn more about this vast topic. She is grateful for the opportunity to learn daily from her students, friends and family.
